WebApr 10, 2024 · Personally, I prefer a 1.5: 1.0: .5 ratio on those hops for all flameout/whirlpool/dry hop additions. Other hops that Work well in my experience - Simcoe, Amarillo, Azacca, Falconers Flight Blend I like Centennial, Cascade in flame out additions, but now so much in dry hop additions. I feel comfortable adding 2-3oz of loose hops for 5-10 min additions before flameout. I’ll drop the basket in with 5 minutes left and hit it hard with flameout and whirlpool hops. Ill try adding it earlier this time and see how good of a boil I get.
WebFeb 10, 2012 · My opinion is no, you don't get the great hops aroma from late additions like you do from dry hopping. Whenever I make a pale, I lean towards the dry hop, even in a small amount anywhere from 0.5-1.5oz over a flameout addition (even though I'll usually have a 0min in there too).
