I was reading your (Footslogger) 20 questions answers and noticed your replies somewhat depended on or included help from your wife. My question is how you got her motivated to support, help and understand the purpose of the hike.

How do you find time to Thru-Hike?

Do most of you pre plan you zero mile days If you plan them are they based on history of your anticipated resting points or restocking points. Do you plan them based on on points of interest? I do plan to go for it after I retire in two years. The only ideas I could come up with were: 1. Already Retired 2. I've been on the trail for over 6 months, and lately I've been having a serious bear issue. I've been stalked by a bear for the past few days. I've also noticed an increased racoon presence by my tent/camp at night. It's really been crazy. I'm in Maine and didn't expect to encounter this.

웹2005년 8월 6일 · I was reading the thread about "To Hang or not to Hang? Food that is" and I got to thinking. I have only done short hikes and maybe 100 miles total on the AT over the years. I can bet a longer hike could bother me but I am not sure. For you young guys this is not an issue YET. I want to take her to the AT in Virginia (Luray area if possible). I hope someone out there can give me an idea of start and stop place that would allow us to go out Friday Morning and finish Sunday Afternoon.
